In addition, the TFD has to qcquire 16 hurs/year of approved training through Arkansas Fire Academy.

Specialized equipment: Thermal Imaging Camera and 2 Fire Finders.

All personnel equipped with protective equipment meeting or exceeding current NAPA standards.


TFD operates on a Tone/Voice Paging system to alert firefighters of any type of emergency.

TFD can page from the central station, the police station, and units or hand-held radios.

TFD is also in charge of the Tornado Warning System for Trumann.


TFD conducts pre-fire planning inspections of each commercial, industrial, institutional, and habitational buiding (over 4-family apartments) at least twice per year.

Chief Revis Kemper was hired as the Fire Chief in November of 2015. Chief Kemper graduated from Trumann High School and has an Associate’s Degree in general studies. He is a certified Fire Marshal through the State of Arkansas and a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators. He is also a certified Fire Inspector and an adjunct Instructor for the Arkansas Fire Training Academy.

The Trumann Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 6 full time firefighters and 14 volunteer firefighters. The department operates from 1 central station and covers approximately 90 square miles including the City of Trumann and surrounding Poinsett County area.
